How eScripts work
How eScripts work?
When you receive an eScript, each repeat has a unique token and QR code. Here's what happens:
-
When you go to the pharmacy and get your medication, the pharmacist dispense that repeat and the unique token is used. Your eScript is then marked as 'dispensed.'

-
If you have repeats left, you should receive a new token for each one. This will be sent to you via SMS or email from your pharmacy (sometimes the pharmacy prints it out).

You can understand more about eScripts here.

Can apps like Scripty automatically update my eScripts or add repeats for me?
Scripty can do that but first, you need to link your Active Script List (ASL) or My Script List (MySL) to the app with the help of your pharmacy. This allows Scripty to sync your scripts, but remember, automatic updates or next repeats won't happen by themselves without this step! This is the process for all apps. This setup simply helps manage your eScripts efficiently, keeping you free from tracking SMS/email tokens.
Why does my eScript say dispensed even though I have repeats?
Each eScript repeat token is for a one-time use. After you've filled it at the pharmacy, that token is ‘used up’, and you're given a new one for your subsequent refills. That's why the eScript status changes to "dispensed" – to indicate that specific token has been used.
What do I need to do?
Add each new token you receive from SMS/Email to Scripty. Or better yet, connect with MySL for automatic updates.

Before linking to MySL in Scripty
This may be your current experience with eScripts and using Scripty.
-
Add your eScript to Scripty using the token received through SMS or email.
-
Get it dispensed at your pharmacy.
-
Receive your next repeat token via SMS or email after dispensing.
-
Manually add the new token to Scripty, ready for ordering when needed.
Repeats are not automatically updated in Scripty; they require you to manually tap to add eScripts from your messages/email each time until you connect to your MySL

After linking to MySL in Scripty...
Once your script is dispensed at the pharmacy, Scripty will automatically update and show your next repeat. This eliminates the need for manually adding in your repeat tokens.
You'll may still receive your SMS token but you don't need to worry about it, cause it will be in Scripty.
By linking Scripty to your ASL/MySL, you enable the app to automatically handle updates and manage repeats more efficiently, removing the manual steps involved in adding repeat tokens.
